Tap@ Wäinö, Helsinki. Hazy orange, white head. Aroma has some weird notes, also banana, clove, sahti like. Flavor has banana, wheat, light sourness. Some strange things notes. Not bad, but I have had much better beers in this style.

(Keg at Villi Wäinö, 20140514) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, clove and sweetness. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, clove, malts and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and mildly bitter. A weak and watery hefeweizen.

Tap at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, Helsinki. Colour is cloudy light orange with very small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, banana, wheat, some sweetness and malts. Quite flat and homebrewish. Something wrong with this one.

Quite pale appearance, looks filtered. Aroma is odd with oranges, some citrus and gooseberry bush. Feels contaminated. Flat and slimy palate. Flavour has citrus, floury tones and yeasty tones. Messy and not very hefe-like.

Slightly hazy "unclean" yellow, mostly vanishing white head (= not a good sign). Overriped banana and syrup in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sweetish overriped banana, low bitterness. Flat mouthfeel. Homebrewish. Not anything what brewers were hoping for I suppose.

Almost opaque black color, steady beige head. Vanilla dominates the aroma with hints of cocoa. Medium-bodied. Quite sweet, lots of vanillin sugar gives a bit artifical feeling. Too sweet and too little roasted maltyness for my liking. Hopefully next batch is better.

Pours dark brown with a smooth white head. Aroma of vanilla, cocoa, roasted malts and hints of wood. Taste is smooth, sweetish and slightly roasty with loads of vanilla and cocoa. Finish is smooth, sweetish and roasty with notes of vanilla and milk chocolate. Okay sweet stout/porter.

(Keg at Leijuva Lahna, 20140101) The beer poured black. Its head was small and almost white. Aroma had chocolate, coffee and toasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were chocolate, coffee, sweetness, toasted malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had chocolate and bitterness. Even though I knew vanilla was used as an ingredient in this beer still I tasted it as chocolate. Nice brew nevertheless.

Draught @ Leijuva Lahna
Aroma has vanilla, some roastiness and a sugary feeling. Flavour has lots of vanilla sugar. Perhaps also some cocoa and chocolate in the background. Finishes with Lakuvene-styler licorice and hints of hay. The sweet licorice notes are really nice. A vanilla overdose with artifical feeling - but I still seem to enjoy this. I’m pretty sure we will see other opinions on this too though.

A re-rate; still 3.9, I’d say. Perhaps closer to 3.8 than 4.0 but 3.9 is still closer than either of those.
