Description
Hvide Sande Bryghus was established in 2018 in a former fish warehouse at the port of Hvide Sande. The brewery was started by director and brewmaster Niels Sangill, who was born and raised in the town.
After owning and operating Geddal Gaardbryggeri northwest of Holstebro since 2014, he has now started a new, larger, brewery adventure in the old fishing village of Hvide Sande.
At Hvide Sande Bryghus we brew specialty beers according to our own recipes and bottle the beer ourselves at our own bottling plant. We have a fixed selection of about 8 different types, in addition we have various seasonal beers and specialty brews for larger customers
We regularly arrange tours of the brewhouse and bottling plant including beer tasting.
During the high season there are tours at fixed times, and otherwise upon request from groups.

Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice small head. Roasty-malty aroma. Starts intense roasty malty, some chocolate, some wood. Light caramel hints. Finish milder, still warming-malty. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, and yeast, with touches of dried fruit. Bitter, roasty and nutty flavour with sweetish notes of caramel malt and yeast, and mild fruity touches. Acidic and estery aftertaste with malty notes. Reasonable for a Dubbel made outside Belgium.

0.5 l bottle from the brewery, best before September 2023. Black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty aroma of caramel, cocoa, hazelnut and coffee. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, hazelnut, caramel and hints of vanilla, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice Porter, really well-brewed, quite saturating for only 6.5%.

Sweetish, gently fruity-floral aroma of lemon peel, orange and some grains. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity-floral taste of lemon peel, orange, grains, some straw and light honey, followed by a short, gently bitter, minimally grassy, crisp finish. Bottle, 6.0%. Aroma of dark malts and metal. Cloudy dark brown colour. Ok stable creamy light brown head. The flavour has some brown sugar and a medium bitterness to match. Nutty and roasted notes as well. Thin mouthfeel for the style and a little fruitiness which puts me off a bit, but all in all a decent beer.
