Description
Bullhouse was initially founded back in 2016 to bring to market styles of beer not commonly available in Northern Ireland. To that end, the first beers we brewed were an Imperial Stout and a Comber Potato Saison.
We work to the following four values which determine the beers we brew, our responsibility to our local community and to the local environment.
- Transparency
- Curiosity
- Community
- Creativity
With environmental sustainability at our core, we pride ourselves on using local suppliers where possible for our raw materials. All our base malts are grown on the island of Ireland. Unfortunately we don't have the climate to grow hops in Belfast, but we contract the freshest hops from around the world to ensure our hoppy beers are as flavourful as possible.
We naturally carbonate our beers using the CO2 produced during fermentation and have eliminated tank to tank transfers, further reducing our environmental impact.

Cask at GBBF ‘19, day four, 09/08/19. Hazed golden yellow with a decent off white head. Nose is juicy citric flesh, pine needle, ripe melon, grass. Taste comprises orange pith, pine dusting, grass, melon, grapefruit splash. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close spiked with resinous hop bitterness. Excellent hoppy cask beer … it can be done !

6th Sep 2019, half-pint (keg) in Bittles Bar, Belfast. Hazy golden pour, white, lasting head. Malty and fruity with a slight citrus kick. Overall though it had a sweet caramel taste, which my sweet tooth really liked.

5.0% Cask handpull at GBBF 2019. Cloudy pale gold colour lasting white head. Tropical fruit aroma. Some pineapple chunks. I thought decent enough. Light if any bitterness. I thought decent for a neipa Norn Iron pale ale. Ok.

Can thanks to Steve, shared with my Merc Bro. It pours hazy bright orangey - gold with a small foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, tangy, plenty of ripe tropical fruits, mango, papaya, orange squash, um bungo and fruit salad. The taste is fairly crisp, then softens, sweet, sticky, sweet tangerines, peaches & cream, tinned fruits, mango, um bungo, touch of greenness, nips of spice, bread and cakey malts with soft, fruity finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Pretty fruity stuff. A bit too sweet maybe.
