Black with creamy head. Aroma has a slight tartness. Perhaps this one is on the turn. Flavour does have nutty roasted malts but also bitter apple pips.

Cask at GBBF '18, day 4, 10/08/18. Pale golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is a touch thin, mellow fruit, straw, grains. Taste carries a medicinal note ... light smoke - an infection me thinks? straw, grains and faint citric peel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not great.

Cask (handpump) @ Lord Roberts, 24 Broad Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 3AN. [ As Elliswood Royal Standard 1485 ].Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, toasted, caramel, spicy, light hoppy, pine. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long to average duration, spicy, fruity hops, fruity malt, swet malt, pale malt - toasted - caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171015] 6-3-6-3-12

Cask at the Queens Head, Stourbridge. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is yeasty roast and liquorice. Taste has light coffee, roast, liquorice and yeast.

Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival, 2018. Pours mahogany brown with a small bubbly tan coloured head. Aroma of roasted malt, smoked meat, chocolate and nut. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft to flat carbonation. Aroma of look is good, otherwise disappointing.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 11/2/2018. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Cereal malts, a hint of hedgerow fruits and leafy hops before a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask @ Baum, Rochdale. Golden with a creamy head. Has a sugary-hoppy taste with malty undertones in this respect. It has a regular malty nose.
