Description
Founded in late 2017, ETKO Brewing was made of humble love for simple, yet enjoyable beer that makes you want to have another one. By “humble” we mean “brewing beer in a bathroom in somebody’s flat” -humble – the typical story of how Finnish craft beer scene came to be by trial and error, flamed by the enthusiasm of being at the frontier of something new. Any pour could be the beginning of an adventure!

ETKO shares its facilities with Factory Brewing. Etko Brewing is more of an "All-round" brewery, which means making all kinds of beer.

Can bought at Pien, Helsinki. Grassy and floral aroma. Low key. Hazy marmalade amber. Frothy off-white head. Light bitter. Slightly sour edge with underlying sweetness. Marmalade-esque. Some spice. Medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. Verging on SIPA territory. Nice enough but overly polite.

On tap @ Rotterdam, Helsinki. Orange yellow, hazy beer with medium head. Aroma and taste has lots of orange, not much else. Bitter, dry, not very refreshing.

(Keg at Beerger, 20190522) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, chocolate, ash, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet and bitter. A too sweet imperial stout. Not too boozy.
