Grimm Sound Advice IPA on tap at BruFrou Fest. A cloudy orange gold with a whisoy white head. A musty pine hop bouquet leads to a medium bodied beer that has acrisp finish but generic bitterness. OK.

Pours black with a small tannish head of foam that shrinks quickly.

Smells of roasted malt, smoke, both dark and milk chocolate.

Tastes of the chocolate I mentioned with light smoke and roast. Fairly light bodied with medium carbonation.

Good smoked beer and it’s easy on the abv.

On the Growler station at Liquor Shed. I bought a Howler.

Pours a dark gold/mahogany. Smallish head of foam but it lasts.

Such a smokie nose; reminds me of some jerky I have had in the past. No sweet or bitter notes that I can pull.

Smokey taste and I don’t mean on the mild side. Again, reminds of some of the better jerky I have tasted in the past. Nothing bitter here, only a hint of sweet. Could be some roasted malt intermingled with that tasty smoke.

Kinda light bodied with light carbonation.

Very enjoyable Rauchbier and I bought a Howler’s worth; any more than that and I would have to set it aside for another visit. The smokey brews don’t have the greatest drinkability but at the right pace, they do the job right. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dragon Slayer on 30 Apr 2016 at 14:31 - Score: 8. Original review text: Has a smoked jerky taste. Which I dig. Smoke has a long lingering after taste. Very very nice.

From a Howler purchased at Liquor Shed in Casper.

Pours a clear 24 karat gold with an excellent head of foam and lacing.

Smells all citrusy with lots of grapefruit, other fruit like melon and a lightly perceivable hint of bready malt.

Taste matches the smell favourably. I get more of that bready malt in the taste than smell but it is still very hop forward.

Nice mouthfeel and very drinkable. This is very good. It ain’t all aboot the Lagers at Grimm Brothers. .. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sound Advice 2.0 IPA on 16 Apr 2016 at 13:50 - Score: 8. Original review text: 100 IBUs! I bought a Howler of it at Liquor Shed.

It pours a clear reddish brown with a small and quickly receding head of foam. Lacing is near non existent.

Smells spicy with some cloves and nutmeg and very malty overall.

Malty sweet with lightish cloves and nutmeg..very smooth and somewhat warming.

Medium body with light carbonation.

This fits the style line to a T. Well done Grimm Brothers.

Mild roast, kinda hoppy in a Pils like way. Smooth, tasty, satisfying.
