Can courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewery. Consumed at home Tuesday 9th June 2026 listening Huw Stephens on 6Music who are playing tracks from Primervera Festival. We're having Gorgonzola Macaroni Cheese with a nice salad. Pours very light silver colour with a very slight haze, a few stray bubbles dance across the surface. Refreshing, light/mid hoppiness, some tropical touches. It's nice, but it's not a beer. Score: 6.8

Can picked up from Craftbeershop, webshop, Parchim, Germany consumed Sunday 7th June 2026 watching The Mentalist on Netflix. We cooked outside down on the wood oven, a sort of Kedgeree type dish, it was nice. Btw I did actually open this last night (Saturday) but it was too late to appreciate so put the rest of the can in the fridge. Pours black, thickness in the mouth, with a creamy light beige head. Vanilla and a little liquorice on the nose and I guess some chocolate. Sweet in the mouth, a touch over sweet, once again the vanilla wins out but a roastyness also there and of course chocolate. It's quite good, actually I'm being a tad harsh, yeah pretty decent. Score: 7.6

Bottle picked up from a local Getrankemarkt and consumed at home Monday 8th June 2026 we have Baked Ricotta with Thyme Roast Jersey Royals Asparagus, Peas and Lemon for tea. Pours hazy amber with a large white head, soft mouthfeel, sweetish but lacking in flavour, one of those alcohol free beers that completely fails to hit the mark. Score: 5.0

Can picked up from Craftbeershop webshop, Parchim Germany and consumed outside down by the wood oven, we're cooking a sort of Kedgeree type dish, Sunday 7th June 2026 listening to Deadletter - Existence is Bliss. Pours mid yellow colour, another beer with a slight cloudiness, sticky white head. Solid West Coast IPA, resinous, pretty decent but far from exciting, fresh, crisp, piney, citrus, drying on the finish. I like it but was left hoping for more. Score: 7.1

Can picked up from Craftbeershop webshop, Parchim Germany and consumed at home at the top of the garden Sunday 7th June 2026 listening to Boards of Canada - Inferno. Pours mid urine yellow colour, slight cloudiness white head that's filmy after a while, a little bit of sweet lemon sherbet. Simple and straightforward American IPA, nice and refreshing but I wanted a little more complexity. Score: 7.1

Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop Hamburg and consumed at home Saturday 6th June 2026 after a short loop cycle ride to Schönberg Volksfest. We're cooking Harissa Meatballs with Broad Beans and Garlic Yoghurt, outside in the wood oven, listening to Nightbus - Passenger. Pours murky, in fact very murky orange juice colour with a small white head. This is a beast but it's a very drinkable beast, hugely hoppy, some heavy sweetness, bitter but completely calmed down by a huge tropical full bodiedness. Lovely, really lovely. My words won't do this justice, but it's great, really great. Score: 8.1

Bottle picked up from Degenhart Getrankemarkt, Freyung, and consumed at home Friday 5th June 2026 after picking up our new residence cards earlier and a short cycle ride up to the local Gasthof zum Sonnewald Schofweg. Pours clear warm gold with a white head, the carbonation could be a tad more enthusiastic, regarding this, it's okay but lacking slightly. Some sweet maltiness from the off, a little bitterness also floods through, grassy hoppiness, nice mouthfeel despite carbonation lacking a little. 🤣Score: 7.0

We visited here Friday 22nd May 2026. It's located not too far from the centre, about 1.5 - 2km, Kettenbrückgasse is the nearest U-Bahn stop for those using public transport. Inside it's very smart, the layout is quite logical, there is an area for chilled beers and down a few steps at the back, merchandise mostly glasses but some T-shirts. However as good as this could have been I was a little disappointed, yeah there's a lot of beer, however there was a lot of repeats, there was a ridiculous amount of Brewdog stuff they were trying to shift, okay so it was better stuff like Abstrakt but it was expensive and took up far too much shelf space, likewise a brewery I really like Pohjala again it seemed to be everywhere. I did end up buying a few bottles but mostly cool and interesting Austrian stuff as I was rather hoping that the cost of these would be slightly offset by the fact that it was local beers.
I didn't get to speak to the staff, there were a couple of guys in front of me who were clearly spending huge sums of money on beer, I ended up spending €45-60 I think on 4 bottles/cans.
All told this place didn't really do it for me, though I can see that they had a decent sour section plenty of good gueuze and lambics but otherwise the Belgian section wasn't that inspiring..
The UK beers were also not at all difficult to get, mostly Fuller's the aforementioned Brewdog and Thornbridge.
I wouldn't revisit here, it didn't do much for me.
