Basementonline Profile - Brewver (Dev)

Just steps away from the center, this fairly large brewpub/restaurant is a great place to spend some time outside of the chaos. With their jungle garden you really feel as if you've just left the city.

Unfortunately two out of four of their brews were unavailable when I visited and they seemed surprised that I was somewhat disappointed at this. However, they quickly recovered and I could just have half a taster set. They were very friendly and helpful.

Located right at the night market, this is probably the place with the largest and most varied selection on tap in Siem Reap and its environs, and therefore should not be missed. The personnel was kind even though they were a bit disorganised at times. The foreign owner was uncomfortably condescending towards them treating them more as objects rather than employees he cared much about, and him seeking my conformation on the matter made it an awkward encounter.

Menus from various local restaurants/kitchens can be ordered and will be served at your table. All in all a must-visit.

Located right in my hostel's street, this locally run brewpub was my first beer place in Cambodia. It is run by a couple who seemed happily surprised to have a customer. They recently opened and the brewer learned on the job from other brewers. They have strong ties with Himawari Brewery from the capital city and actually served one of their beers. A free portion of local nuts with herbs was served, too.

Unfortunately only two beers (and the Himawari beer) were available and only in 0.3L glasses, but it felt like a nice welcome to the city and the country. If you happen to be near, this is a nice stop.

A tiny place with their brewing equipment between the venue and the somewhat tucked away restrooms. The friendly personnel spoke English very well, but were mostly minding their own business.

With their Japanese roots, the available styles are leaning towards Japan. Tasters available, but be quick, because with the hot temperatures and the not too cold serving temperature, beers get 'wasted'.

Definitely worth a visit.
