16 oz can purchased as a single at The Wine Thief & Ale Jail in Crystal, Minnesota. The pour is a clear dark copper ruby with a 2 inch foamy light tan head that falls with light lace. The aroma is toffee malt, biscuit and soft smoke. The taste is the toffee malt, biscuit malt sweetness, drying earth character towards the softly smoked finish. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with soft natural carbonation and a mineral toffee malt dry finish that shows some alcohol warmth to the finish. Solid.

16 oz nitro can that was purchased at Gomers in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is an opaque black brown with a small soap foamy light tan head, really doesn't cascade and build up like most nitro cans - despite my aggressive pour. The aroma is soft roast, a hint of coffee, maybe some pine lurking behind. The taste is a soft caramel malt with coffee roast and finishes with a hint of mineral. The palate is medium to light bodied, low silky nitro body and a somewhat watery finish. Really not as full of character as I remember the original stout. I am almost thinking something wasn’t working with the nitro cartridge on this four pack.

Shaker pint draft at The Bar in Mission, Kansas. The pour is a copper, amber, brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is nutty, caramel malt and a touch of herbal earth. The taste is the nutty, spice, toffee caramel and soft earth along with nutmeg to the back. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with soft carbonation and the earth nutmeg finish. Clean, tasty Alt that incorporated traditional Holiday Ale spicing.

16 oz can purchased as a single at The Wine Thief & Ale Jail in Crystal, Minnesota. The pour is an opaque brown black with a foamy two inch light khaki head. The aroma is soft roast, grain and faint metallic. The taste is the soft coffee roast, malt grain and the faint metallic lingers in the back. As the beer warms, the metallic softens to more of a mineral character. The palate is light bodied, natural carbonation and a roast, bone dry, almost no sweetness from the malt.

16 oz can purchased at The Wine Thief & Ale Jail in Crystal, Minnesota. The pour is a clear golden with a big foamy 2 inch white head. The foam falls slow and rocky. The aroma is grass, resin, along with faint cereal grain malt. The taste is the grass resin upfront, touch of lime citrus, followed by dry cereal bread malt and finishes with more of the softly bitter hops. The palate is medium to light bodied with natural carbonation and the dry, resin, mineral finish. Nice West Coast IPA.

16 oz can purchased at The Wine Thief & Ale Jail in Crystal, Minnesota. The pour is a crystal-clear, pale golden with a one inch foamy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma has notes of straw, grass, softly herbal, and subtle lemon citrus hop. The taste features crisp, bright straw malt, quickly followed by classic Pilsner hop notes of herbal and grass, with a hint of lemon citrus in the crisp finish. The palate is light-bodied with active carbonation, herbal and mineral notes, and a crisp, dry finish. This is an easy-drinking, nice Pilsner.
