16 oz can purchased at Fieldwork Brewing Company in San Leandro, California. 10.31 stamped bottom of can. The pour is a clear golden yellow with a lasting one inch thick foam white head. The aroma is tropical fruit, dank, resin and a clementine orange fruit. The taste is dank, pineapple citrus, pine resin and finishes with cracker malt. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and the resin dank dry mineral finish. Fresh and tasty.

16 oz can purchased at Monument Wines and Spirits in Concord, California. The pour is a clear copper brown with a foamy light tan one inch head. The aroma is nutty malt, soft toffee, and a touch of grass. The taste is the nutty malt, a bit of apple fruit, muted malt toffee sweetness, and finishes with more of the nut. The palate is medium to light bodied with decent carbonation and a clean malt sweet and nut finish. Solid.

Eventually falls with splotchy lace. The aroma is soft herbal, grass, hay, soft Saison type yeast along with grain. The taste is wheat grain, soft hay, clove, herbal and finishes with a hint of citrus peel. The palate is medium bodied, soft to low carbonation and a silky mouth feel.

Visited midday on a Friday. Located in a shopping center, plenty of parking all around. Typical liquor store setup, with the beer in the back wall cooler as well as a section in the middle of the store. The cold beer selection has a ton of local craft breweries, almost all available as singles. The real feature of this store is the middle section. The collection of bottles represents would would be nirvana 10 or 15 years ago, with a bunch of the tops beers from that era. I saw a Lost Abbey Red Poppy Ale, 3 Fonteinen Hommage, De Molen 1914 Porter, Struisse Black Albert, and many, many others. The beers were almost all covered with a layer of dust, and it truly felt like a hidden stash. Prices seemed perhaps a touch high, but I didn’t really compare prices to elsewhere. Definitely worth checking out to poke around and see what you can find from this time warp.

Shaker pint draft at Sailing Goat in Richmond, California. The pour is a clear golden with a white head that leaves behind great lace. The aroma is cracker malt with herbal grassy hops. The taste is a nice blend of the slightly honey sweet malt and the herbal grassy hop. The palate is light to medium bodied, active carbonation and a nice clean finish. Nice Pils.
