12 oz can from a six pack from the grocery store. Aroma has notes of cantaloupe, B.O., grapefruit. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste has a faint pithy bitterness with flavors of bread, overripe citrus and a soapy off-note that becomes unnoticeable after a few sips.

16 oz can. Aroma is citrusy, lightly grassy. Pours lightly hazy golden with a one+ finger soapy off-white head that fades slowly to a skiff of foam. Taste is lightly bitter with citrusy, vaguely tropical hop flavors. Crisp, clean, refreshing.

14.9 oz can. I know I rated this on Ratebeer at least 15 years ago. Not sure why it didn’t transfer to Brewver. Aroma is floral, lightly bready. Pours nearly clear golden with a half finger cream-white head that reduces slowly. Taste has a bready malt sweetness backed by a slowly building herbal hop bitterness. Has that signature English Samuel Smith flavor profile. Perfectly carbonated velvety mouthfeel for a lager. One thing about it, I appreciate subtle lagers like this a hell of a lot more than I used to during the early Ratebeer days. It was due for a re-rate. More fair to this delicious beer.

16 oz can. Aroma is floral, grassy, light citrus, tea. Pours hazy golden with a one+ finger pillowy off-white head with excellent retention. Taste has a moderate (high for style) herbal hop bitterness with crisp, clean flavors. Probably the best “West Coast style” Pilsner I’ve had so far.

16 oz can. Aroma is strong guava, some wheat, SweeTarts, floral. Pours hazy golden with a large crackling off-white head that reduces fairly quickly into a ring. Taste is moderately sour (7/10) with an explosion of guava flavor. This would go down so easy in hot weather. Too bad it’s January.

12 oz boxed bottle. Aroma is chocolaty, crème brûlée, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, tobacco, overripe dark fruit, wet stone. Pours very dark brown to black with an immediately collapsing beige head. Taste is bittersweet with chocolaty, bourbon barrel kissed toffee tinged deliciousness.

12 oz bottle from the BA Big Beer box. Aroma is chocolaty, woody, raisin, molasses, whiskey, vanilla. Pours very dark brown to black with a thin collapsing beige head. Taste is bittersweet with lots of rye spice. High ABV is fairly well hidden; tastes like it could be in the 9% range. The rye adds so much to this. Phenomenal!

12 oz can from work. Aroma has notes of cantaloupe, peach rings, pine, crackery malt. Pours hazy golden with a half finger bone-white head that settles into a ring and skiff of foam quickly. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness with flavors like the aroma. Basic but well made and tasty.
