Gold with a surging, sudsy, white head. Aroma full of herbs, lemon peel and dough. Taste is bitter with a white bread sweetness underneath. Crisp, bitter finish that’s both grainy and herbal. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth and delicate feel. Good one.

Hazy, pale gold with a frothy, white head. Smells like citrus and smoked peaches. A bit earthy too with occasional floral tones. Taste is moderate bitter, both citric and burnt. It’s an odd combination but has the joy of keeping you guessing what’s next. Finishes mildly citric bitter with a long dose of woodsmoke. Body to the the light side of medium, moderate carbonation, dry. Fun one.

Amber with a frothy, white head. Aroma is an enticing mix of apples, apricots and butterscotch. Taste is moderate bitter and faintly tart with a honey-like sweetness underneath—all of it melding nicely. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, dry, a touch warm at the finish. Pleasant sipping.

Clear, light amber with a creamy head. Grassy, grainy aroma, caramel reminiscent of a Landbier with faint, whiskey cask undertones. Taste is bitter with bit of peppery spice and a faint tang at the finish. Touch of toffee sweetness. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation, mildly watery texture. Goes down easy. Quite decent.

Deep gold with a foamy, white head of modest duration. Aroma of mixed grains, honey, peppercorn. Quite the hops bomb for a traditional German bock—it’s bitter, spicy, grainy, grassy and dusty the whole way through. Lingering warmth and bitterness. Body to the full side of medium, moderate carbonation. Made a decent first impression but lacks depth.

Copper colored with a frothy, white head. Hints of apples, grass, and dough. Taste is bitter with both grainy and fruity notes. Finishes moderately grainy bitter. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, clean, crisp feel. Not bad. The color and punchy, grainy bitterness make it feel more like a Märzen than the typical Helles.

Pale gold with a creamy, white head. Grapefruit aroma with a touch of pine. Taste is moderate citric bitter throughout. Body stays light, moderate carbonation, dry and a touch chalky. Finishes abruptly with the wateriness taking a sudden upper hand. Pleasant though and modestly refreshing.

Dark copper with a frothy, white head. A rather subdued aroma has touches of grass, toast, metal, and graham cracker. Grassy, herbal bitterness accompanied by an underlying caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, very delicate feel. Goes down easy in the end despite a rather underwhelming aroma. Good.

Almost brown with a frothy head that soon fades. Aroma of prunes and caramel. Taste is bittersweet with a short, faintly bitter finish. Body to the light side of medium, moderate to prickly carbonation, trends watery. Drinkable. Has more character than I expected from a random Rewe beer.
