Rather orange with a frothy head of modest duration. Pleasant aroma, quite tropical, full of passion-fruit, pineapple and guave with candy undertones. Taste is bitter and citric the whole way through, a bit harsh though at the finish with the booze poking through. Medium bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Not bad, but not great.

Aged a couple years in the cellar. Black with a thin, frothy, white head. Aroma promises lots of licorice, ash, roasted grains. Taste is toasted bitter over a big, sweet, malty body with lots of chocolate. Body to the full side of medium, very mild carbonation. Decent chewiness. The 10% is exceptionally well hidden. Goes down real easy. Nice!

Green with a foamy, white head. Aroma all over the place—melon-like with guave, cough drop and a sprinkling of herbs. Taste is bitter, moderate citric, over a chewy, sweet, malty base. Quite fruity at the end with a moderate, lingering bitterness. Not bad, even if a tad gimmicky.

Amber with a foamy head of modest duration. Yeasty, dank aroma with hints of toffee. Taste is a sweet-sour mix with the latter carrying the finish. Lingering apple vinegar sourness tempered by sweetness of the wheat malt. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, moderate chewy. Drinkable. Didn’t grow on me.

Gold with a foamy, white head. Yeasty and banana-like aroma with a hints of bandages and wine vinegar. Taste is mildly sweet, faint tart, finishing much the same with lingering dough on the tongue, and dankness and bandage on the nose. Medium bodied, highly carbonated. Definitely past its freshness, although many months from the best date. Underwhelming.

Deep red and murky with minimal head. Apricot aroma. Cherry underneath. Taste is almost sweet up front before turning immediately sour through the middle and the finish. Lingering berry sourness. Full-bodied, thick but smooth, mild carbonation. Truly a smoothie. Unanimous approval from Mom and Dad who are here on visit, just prior to Captain’s Dinner. Nice!

Deep amber with a foamy head. Moderate gush. Stone fruit aroma with a hint of caramel. Bitter on top and faintly citric with sweet, caramel undertones. Medium bodied, aggressive carbonation, which is the fly in an otherwise pleasant brew. Not bad.

Auburn with a creamy, beige head. Toasted grain aroma. Pumpernickel. Chocolate. All fairly understated. Taste has a roasted bitterness over a sweet, malty base, but also has slightly metallic overtones. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation, a bit watery throughout. Okayish.
