Bottle. A good stout as always from Pohjala, but not one of the best cellar series beers. I get lots of cinnamon, but not as much apple as expected. Still very nice and drinkable for the abv.

A banger of a sour ale. Loads of raspberry and blueberry, nice, really balanced acidity, balanced with some nice sweetness. Excellent.

Really nice hazy session IPA, juicy, drinkable and lots of citrus and tropical fruit. Nice!

All the high abv beers from Pohjala are among my absolute favourites, but I often think their regular abv beers are a bit more mediocre. This one instead surprised me greatly! I was expecting a less dark rye beer, instead I encountered almost a little brother of the Rukkivein/Rudolf. A malty, nicely balanced ale with lots of rye, some chocolate and caramel, and nice touch of hops in the back. A keeper!

Can at home. Pours a nice yellow with a small head. Aroma is surprisingly yeasty, lots of creamy peach and zesty citrus. Light to medium body. Flavour starts very floral and herbal, increasingly you get lots of peach, some sweet orange, but of grape and grapefruit. Creamy and full of flavour for the abv. Bit of bitterness, especially in the finish. Extremely tasty session and supremely drinkable.

Bottle at home on a Sunday evening as a dessert beer. Aroma is lots of wood, vanilla, cognac, dark malts, chocolate, molasses, caramel, figs. Full body. Flavour is smooth, boozy and well-rounded, medium sweetness. Nice dark malts with chocolate, molasses, caramel, no bitterness, and lots of barrel notes in the finish, especially cognac with grape notes and oak, with plenty of wood and some vanilla. Lovely.

Another iteration of the bänger! Unsurprisingly, this is an especially sweet and smooth version. Aroma is heavy on maple syrup, wood, light licorice, and some earthy notes. Full bodied with a a thickish mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, malty, and extremely smooth, with a surprising amount of wood smoke. Maple syrup comes through nicely but doesn't overwhelm as it easily can. Long, quite bitter finish, but not unpleasant in it's bitterness. Good stuff.

Big bottle with my brother and girlfriend. Pours a dark brown, not much head. Aroma is bourbon, malt, figs, prunes, vanilla. Full body. Flavour is malty, quite sweet, lots of prune and fig, vanilla, bourbon, caramel. Lovely stuff.
