From a can. Great carbonation and color. Good palate. The mosaic is rather sweet for a pilsner. Grapefruit/citrus aroma.

From a bottle, a 2024 cider, purchased in May 2026 at La Maripepa, Madrid, and opened late April, 2026. My first Basque product ever, as far as I know. Hazy pour, and given I only had the one bottle, I did not do the traditional pour from a height. Dry apple, yeast, and a florbal character. Dry throughout, apple skin and yeast. Low carbonation of course, which is fine. A unique beverage.

I found this bar by accident, close to Be Hoppy. New-to-me Spanish beers and ciders on tap, and a bottle selection of uncommon Spanish offerings, as well as reliable European beers form Germany and Belgium, including Cantillon. The server was very friendly, allowed me to search through the refrigerator, and helped me a select a Basque cider to take home after a few draft beers on-site. Considering the tapas bars on this street (which is a recommended location in some guide books), this is a recommended location if you are looking for a change from pale lager in this area.

It looks great, gold beer and a large, lacing head of foam. When I think of a Czech pilsner, I think of dry, bitter hops. This has a dry malt flavor but the strata is too sweet to pair with a pilsner, pushing toward IPL territory.

Bottle from a small grocery in Edinburgh. Red, low to medium carbonation. Sweet malt and sugar, caramel, full palate but not overly sweet or heavy. Light hop character.
