purple ish wax that was pretty hard to remove to get access to the cork
clear quite dark red, no head
deep red berries and honey aroma. complex. settled. heavy. bit like an ancient port wine cellar in madeira.
flavor is red berries, cherries, honey, fruit stone, a very faint spicyboozy note that might be the cognac, it's pretty subtle and i think that is okay, the mead itself totally carries its weight and tastes awesome.
this is a fantastic mead. not bc of the cognac, but despite of it. next time perhaps try a 10x more expensive cognac - not sure it will be better, but worth a try maybe.
would love to taste one where port wine is used, might complement the mead better.

This is very much a top-of-the-line mead.

really nice hoppy citrussy, hoppy flowery, hoppy lemongrassy aroma, also grapefruit and a little pine. fullbodied malts that are still somewhat crisp.
flavor is bitter hoppy, citrussy, lime fruit, hoppy herbal, neutral malts that add some sweetness but is not really crisp.
Not as refined as aroma but clearly drinkable and seems to be somewhere between classic IPA and hazy IPA.

mild citrussy and traditional IPA aroma, faint herbal grapefruit and pine hops, while the aroma is faily faint or mild, it is very good and very well balanced and hints of a very quenching beer coing up.
flavor is slighlty citrussy, mostly herbal with pine and grapefruit and a sweet herbal note i can't really place, malts are sweet and nutty and there is also some malty bitterness, together with the herbal bitterness it feels a bit unbalanced, but it is for sure a really solid ipa nevertheless. just with a few strange notes like herbs or hay or straw thrown in.

herbal hoppy and very citrussy aroma.
Flavor is very juicy, cirus and lime and a bit of oranges, good herbal hoppy note too, sweet malty body but not as powerful in the flavor as the juicy hoppy notes. a very tiny bit soapy notes in the flavor.
Normally i find very juicy ipa's too sweet - this one stays refreshing.

very hazy yellow, large smooth offwhite head.
very mild wheaty aroma, bit like a german hefeweisen. not very belgian. dry for a german, also very little power to the aroma.
Flaver is a pretty good generic wheat flavor. Not overly much banana, its' more dry than that. good mouthfeel, good body, i can't place the style, but this generic wheat ale tastes good and is quite easy drinking while not at all watery or boring. Very well balanced except the hops which are very mild and low - but it works fine with almost no noticable hop flavors.
in a way an extreme wheat beer, due to no bitterness yet still lots of flavor.
closest style is german hefeweizen i think.

pours clear brown, settles dark brown, smooth head, beige to light brown.
nice aroma of roasted malts, smoked peat whiskey, coffee.
flavor is roasted malts with a touch of whiskey, pretty decent whiskey forward roasted malty stout.

hazy yellow, smooth offwhite to light yellow head. creamy.
aroma is fruity and malty in a homebrew-like way (not good home brew) a bit like apples and pastry bread. things that don't mix well. faint spicy note, could be some special malts used, had that before when e.g. spelt malts were used. aroma a bit rough and rural. also bit like biere de garde.
flavor is herbal, bready, fruity hoppy (apples), good soft palate, taste is decent , rural.

aroma is sweet caramelly malts and bitter herbal hops, pine needles.
flavor is dry malty, slightly citrussy, watery pine hop citrussy notes, very easy drinking, reasonable mouthfeel fitting the quenchability. the flavor is a tiny bit tilted towards a pilsener , quite crisp. decent session hazy that is not over the top chewwy or filling.

aroma of sour beer and berries, sligtly sweetened either berries or beer. berries are not fresh like fresh berries but at least fresh like fresh lemonade.
flavor is very sour and tart, definetly fruity sour, the fruits are a bit like fruit jam, quite sweet, but the sour beer can easily handle that, although personally i'd prefer less sweet fruits. overall impression is a pretty darn sour beer alright, but without the sweet berries it would be way much more sour and tart i think.
both dessert like and refreshing at the same time.
