Oakes Profile - Brewver

Opaque and pale amber. Some head. The aroma is a bit leathery, lemony. On the palate, a touch phenolic, then fairly effervescent, and some tannins in the finish. A bit of lemon juice, minimal bugginess. The phenols are fairly light for me, so don't detract too much.

Dark brown. The aroma has a fairly strong shot, definitely the apple brandy. Some dark sugar elements underneath. It's got a lot of those dark sugars, umami, that rich dark chocolate accent, and then it's got a lot of apple brandy in there as well. That barrel helps to cut the richness of the sugars a bit, but still leaves a solid alcohol note, and lots of base stout. Excellent.

Passionfruit Pale Ale from The Beer Farmers

It's a bit opaque, no head. It's also pale. The aroma has some passionfruit, a bit of melon. Soft body, with a light tartness, and lots of passionfruit. Not great, but balanced.
