Oakes Profile - Brewver (Dev)

Pale tan, slight haze. Thin head. Lots of both juniper and grains of paradise. Good body, light wheat. Quite bitter, especially for a wit. Not necessarily a bad thing. Big grains of paradise, lots of cardamom, juniper, just all this stuff in assertive quantities. I’m okay with that, it’s been a while since I had a ballsy witbier.

Decent gold colour and slow bubbles. Medium head. The aroma is light pale malt. Creamy body, moderate bitterness, low hop expression - leaning towards woody - and more pale malt. That little bit of rye boosts complexity, oats for body, that’s taking a concept so many breweries phone in and instead, they sat down, thought it through, and crafted a 3.5 lager that’s actually solid. It’s worth saying again that Hoyne is quietly making very good beer these past couple of years.

Dark brown, this has a lot of coffee up front, this has a mellow chocolate character, vanilla, a bit of bourbon. Solid, feels more restrained than the usual.

Dark brown. Thin head. There's a fair whiskey aroma, and then there's a soft brown sugar accent, light whiskey, with also some toasty accents. Well-balanced. Fairly light, but has good quality.

Slight hazy gold, no head. Sort of sticky malts. Light grassy hop accent. It's okay, in terms of fruity hop. So it ends up okay.

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma has a lot of barrel, it's quite toasty. It's got a lighter body, with the barrels, the body is lighter, the whiskey a bit rougher, but the base is solid. But that toasty, nuttiness is quite good.
