375 bottle. (batch 1) Pours a nearly opaque dark purple color. The nose is mostly raspberry with some juniper berry and perhaps a bit of vanilla. The taste, like the aroma, features raspberries in the forefront with juniper and gin filling in the back and sides. There is a nice light acidic tartness and the gin barrel does give the impression of hot alcohol. The palate is full as always with Schramm's meads. Finishes long and somewhat tart. Overall: A masterpiece. Paired well with some artisan gouda cheese.

375 ml Bottle. Pours a sort of dark yellow amber color. The aroma is quite strong with ginger and honey. The aroma has a medicinal quality to it that I not a fan. The taste is big and bold and just explodes to fill the mouth. I get ginger, black pepper, thyme, salt and honey. The palate is full and viscous. Finishes incredibly long with lingering peppers, just a trace of honey stickiness on the back end. Overall: This is some crazy stuff.

Pint Can. Pours a crystal clear yellow gold color with a big white head that has fair retention. The aroma is on the mild sire with grapefruit, pineapple and sawdust. The taste is grapefruit, and pine resins. The palate is on the lighter side and the carbonation is soft. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Easy drinking IPA that seems very much in the west coast style.

500 ml bottle. Black pour with a small brown head that soon disappears. The aroma is quite strong and is dominated by the bourbon. Other aromas are pretty much obscured by the bourbon. The taste follows the aroma, lots of whiskey in the forefront followed by caramel, maple, dark chocolates and vanilla. The palate is full and syrupy with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and semi-sweet with lingering whiskey. Overall: Top shelf, but not the best choice to drink before breakfast in the morning.

Pint can. Pours a nearly opaque brown color with a small beige head that slowly fades away. The aroma is rather mild an indistinct with traces of winter spices cloves and nutmeg. The taste is winter spices, some pecans, medium roasted malts and a bit of bitter cocoa. The palate is medium in viscosity and the carbonation soft. Finishes short and dry with lingering spices. Overall: Pretty much what I expect from a beer that is called a winter warmer. Good but forgettable.

Pint Can. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized white head and ample lacing. The aroma is strong with lots of piney hops and some sweetened pink grapefruit. The taste features more pine, caramel and some dank-musty papaya. palate is full and the carbonation soft. Finishes long with linger bitter pine. Overall: Ok, but it seemed a bit like an old DIPA that is past its prime. The "winter Ale" style is not clearly defined and this did nothing to clarify that.
