On a brief stop in Sedona, I found Up Town Market and went inside to see what they had in the beer cooler. Looking for Arizona beers I found a couple of Mother Road Brewing IPAs along with maybe one or two more. A decent enough selection if you are limited to the main touristy strip of town. Not cheap but Sedona is not a cheap town to buy in. The fellow that handled the cash register was really a nice guy, certainly worth mentioning.

I got a 19.2 oz can recently in Page, AZ and have it cooled off for a tasting. A basic glass awaits so I pour. A quite clear liquid, it’s gold-yellow in color with a wispy white head that dissipates promptly. I smell citrus, some tropical and enough hops to register. The drink is decent, hoppy enough with lemon, apricot, a hint of honey, malt and crackers. Nice to sample an Arizona brew while touring through the state. An okay IPA, nothing jumps out at me.

I found this 19.2 oz can this week at a Safeway in Page, Arizona while on a national park tour through the southwest. Opening the can and now pouring inside of a hotel glass. The appearance is a mostly clear shiny gold body finished with a proper head of fully white foam. I smell some light hoppiness, yellow fruit and mangoes. A drink gives peaches at the front end, hops, papayas, mangoes again, white bread and malt. A pleasant sweetness offset with a bit of bitterness. Nice beer after a long, hot day from a lightly sampled but well liked brewery.

I obtained a pint draft at Lake Powell Resort in Page, Arizona. A modest beer, it had a cinnamon brown body and a rim of light tan foam. It gave off a flowery scent and little more. I tasted pears, grain, floral and a distinct sweetness. Easy to drink, not challenging but sometimes that is enough.
