KBC 1 Grain, 10,000 Glasses Saison 6%
Deep Amber gold with thick off-white foam and a rich marmalade and spices aroma. Full bodied with a bit of heat. This feels like a heavier more rustic take on a saison than I’m used to seeing from KBC. Nice stuff.

Great Notion Unbalanced Breakfast 6.4%
I’ve gotta say this smells and tastes like a stack of blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. It had thick fluffy beige foam on a not so attractive amber brown body which makes it perfect for my metal glass. The coffee comes through in the finish but I’ve gotta say this is ba lazy Sunday breakfast in a glass. Great.
It’s been awhile since I’ve had something from Great Notion but I’ve gotta say this is among the best I’ve had from them. #keepbeerfun indeed.

South Horizon Brewing Blank Log Book
Imperial Milk Stout 10.5%
Deep chocolatey black with wispy beige foam. Medium to full bodied and very roasty with nutty notes. It’s sweet chocolate but not cloying.
Good stuff, best of the three today.

South Horizon Brewing All Aboard IPA 7%
Another good looking brew that’s golden in color with 1cm of off-white foam. Fairly full bodied and smooth. The aroma is of an old skool piney IPA. The taste is fairly bitter and adds some balancing sweetness but unfortunately those off-putting trashy vegetal notes. Underwhelming.

South Horizon Nap on Deck APA 5.5%
Beautiful Amber gold with thick light beige foam and a citrusy juicy fruit type aroma promised good things. The medium body and smooth mouthfeel with a more classic balanced APA profile seemed fine but I kept getting some kind of vegetal almost stewed cabbage flavor in the background which detracted from the brew so just kind of meh.
Still for a brewery that started in 2023, not too bad.

Nagahama x Two Rabbits NZ XPA 6.5%
Crystal clear deep yellow gold with thick foam and a tutti-frutti and prickly pear aroma. Medium bodied the flavor adds lots of woodsy pine and a sweet rough earthiness I often get from Nagahama beers. Overall, it’s ok.

Holy spot on Pilsner!
KBC x Yokohama Bay Brewing Gensen
Imperial Bohemian Pilsner 7%
Great looking clear deep yellow gold with thick foam and a floral/herbal hop bouquet. The medium to light body is very crisp with dusty Pilsner malts and a slightly non-standard fruity berry twist but it works really well.
Great stuff.
