Lervig Local is a brewpub operated by Stavanger’s own Lervig brewery. While the main brewery tends to present itself primarily as an IPA-focused producer, Lervig Local offers a broader range of beer styles. That said, it sometimes feels like the brewery doesn’t have quite enough manpower to keep the on‑site brewing running at full capacity - there aren’t always beers on tap that are brewed in-house.
Lervig Local has become our go-to pub, since we live close by. In summer, you can sit outside for as long as the weather allows. The pub borders a park, with the Norwegian king’s residence as its closest neighbour. The interior was probably planned to be somewhat cool and uncosy; the seating isn’t exactly designed to make you linger longer than necessary.
The staff are consistently friendly and service-minded. On tap, you’ll usually find most of Lervig’s core beers, along with whatever local brews or collaborations are available at the moment. The food menu sticks to classic pub meals like burgers and fries.

On tap at Lervig Local, Stavanger. Pours clear dark copper with little off-white head. Aroma of caramel, diacetyl, notes of dark bread. Taste has some sweetness and balancing bitterness. Thin bodied. Pretty boring beer, with too much diacetyl, probably due to poorly maintained tapping lines.
