440ml can from a Mosman liquor store. Poured a mostly clear, almost black colour with a thin off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasty, light sherbet. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, somewhat rich, roasty, dry, light herbal aromatic, light ashtray, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

375ml bottle at Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a thin broken, off-white head. The aroma is dry yeasty, light tart citrus. The flavour is over moderate sour, with a crisp, acidic, somewhat light, super dry tart cherry, yeasty palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Didn’t get any of the promised coffee or chocolate notes as the yeasty sourness was somewhat overpowering.

The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, somewhat rich, biscuit dough, toffee, herbal, earthy, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Over medium bodied with average carbonation.

The flavour is moderate sour, with a crisp, dry, yeasty, tart berry, herbal,, acidic, light floral palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Plenty going on and the flavours sit nicely together.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull and shared in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a fresh, smooth, somewhat light, lemon lime, light vinous, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light boxed with average carbonation. A fine beer indeed, but somewhat light and it lacked the bitterness of a beer described as a West Coast.
