On tap at Collective Arts - Toronto, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has some gentle roastiness—more so than a typical brown—with moderate earthiness. Flavour is much the same, with toasted malt, earthiness, and a touch of coffee grounds. More assertive than the average brown. Nicely constructed.

On tap at Collective Arts - Toronto, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has gentle piney hops, some spicy pine needles, and light toasted biscuity malt. Flavour has a nice piney hop character, along with tropical stone fruit, and dry biscuity malt. Nice fruity and piney hop expression. Very good.

On tap at Collective Arts - Toronto, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has some citrusy hops, light pine, and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour has some spicy piney hops, a touch of herbal notes, and biscuity malt. Not the brightest or invigorating hop expression, but well-constructed and vibrant enough. Good.

On tap at Collective Arts - Toronto, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma has some tangy citrus, candied fruit, and chalk. Flavour has notes of candied stone fruits, some tangy citrus, but not much hop content. A bit murky and muddled but not terrible. Okay.

On tap at Birreria Volo, pours black with a monstrous tan head. Aroma has deep roasted coffee and plenty of earthiness. Flavour is dry, with plenty of earthy coffee dominating. Not much flavour depth; just a lot of dry, earthy coffee. It’s alright.

On tap at Birreria Volo, pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma has light spicy Belgian yeast, gentle peppery notes, and a touch of citrus. Flavour has gentle pepper, some earthy spiciness, moderate esters, and light citrus. This is much more estery than I remember classic La Fin du Monde in its glory days. It’s alright but far from a world-class tripel.

On tap at Birreria Volo, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Nose has orange rind, traces of diacetyl, and some candied citrus. Flavour has notes of resinous hops, candied citrus, and a bit of butter that throws this off tomorrow. However, my wife tells me this isn’t butter but just the way the hops are expressed. Regardless, this doesn’t work for me.
