Garrold Profile

Can picked up at the brewery. Clear very dark chestnut brown. Slim sticky beige finish. Nose has earthy milky coffee. Light roast. Bit of burnt toast. Taste is semi sweet with a dry and earthy bitterness. Drinks well under the 7% as per most Thornbridge bevs. Earthy bitterness to finish. Good gear. Could fancy it more on cask though probably.

Bottle picked up at a shop in Cologne. Hazed light straw colour. Decent white foam stays the course. Nose has oak and soft brett. Lemon and lime peel and zest. Hint of vanilla. Taste is dry and lightly bitter. Crisp bright light mouthfeel with fine foamy carbonation. Lean bitter finish. Super drinkable.

Bottle picked up at 3F. Hazed deep pink. Slim white foam. Aroma has booze steeped cherry. Inevitably there’s vanilla. Taste is sweet and pudding like. Drinks abnormally easy. Fuck knows how this brewery puts this out something of this quality that I’m guessing goes against the grain. You do want you need to do.

Tap at the brewhouse. This was another dry as you like one. Very crisp and refreshing but the dryness wasn’t balanced. Still smashed it obviously.

Tap at the brewhouse. Dry bitter and very cleansing. Good malty depth. Grassy hop. Good.

Tap at the brewhouse. Good gear. Nice hoppage. Very clean and not overly dry. Good bitterness in fact. The rye roll with cheese and onion was tremendous in here too. Shame about a couple of the mardy arsed staff though!

Tap at the brewhouse. Lovely glassware here. Hazed too. Looks like a wheat beer. Has a wheat beer character throughout actually. Yeasty. Lemony and herbal. Nice one although I liked it less than the missus who was very taken with it.
