Sigmund Profile

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.1% (the cask version is 4.3%). Dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Aroma of medium roast malts, dark bread, burnt sugar, chocolate and mild coffee. Slightly dry flavour with the same elements, and moderate earthy hops in the finish. Nice beer.

500 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.4%. Nearly clear golden colour, moderate to low white head. Sweetish aroma of light malts and floral and herbal hops, a hint of honey. Malty flavour, slightly on the sweet side, followed by herbal hops. A faint hint of some sourish notes in the background.

330 ml slimline can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%, IBU 20. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate to small beige head. Aroma of medium roast malts, caramel, brittle, brown bread and burnt breadcrumbs. The flavour is malty but not too sweet, with some slight sourish notes in the background. Otherwise the same elements as the aroma, also hints of prunes, coffee and dark chocolate.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.0%. Opaque "dirty yellow" colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, yellow stonefruits and tropical fruits, a hint of sprucetips. Pleasant flavour with the same elements, medium sweet, a moderate piney bitterness in the finish. .

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.0%. Dark reddish brown colour, small off-white to beige head. Aroma of alcohol / fusel / whisky / oak / bourbon, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Sweet, malty and boozy flavour, with the same elements. Warming mouthfeel, spicy finish.
