Gold waxed 7-fiddy to celebrate my bros birthday. It pours oily jet black with a small dark tan head. The aroma is rich dark roasted malt, slick, oily, unctuous, umami, liquorice, brandy soaked oak, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, Christmas cake, toffee, vanilla, toffee crisp, dark chocolate and cacao nibs. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, charred, umami, dark chocolate, brandy soaked oak, raisin, sultana, grape, date, prune, eccles cake, jammy, malt loaf, molasses and some warming booze with a slick, dark roasted finale. Full body, fine but persistent carbonation and slick mouth feel. Good depth of flavour. Flavourful and moreish.

Can from Green's of Ellon. It pours hazy pale yellow - blonde with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is freshly cut grass, leafy, herbal, pine dust, verbena, grain, bread and biscuit. The taste is dry, touch of bitterness, clean, green, pine, grass, herbal, leafy, touch of spice, biscuit and cracker with a drying finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Flavourful, balanced and moreish. A top tier non alcoholic beer.

900ml PET bad boiii from the 24hr shop on Market Street, Aberdeen. It pours hazy / murky dirty blonde with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, dirty, sweet, perfumed, banana split, muddy, biscuity malt, damp grass / leaves and warming clove spice. The taste is fairly sweet, slightly chalky, grainy, green, green veg, leavy, cabbage, white sugar, foamy banana candy and clove spice with a drying, grainy finish. Average body and fine carbonation. Pretty dirty and grainy. Yeah, it's not great....

Mini 25cl can from Westhill Service Station. It pours lightly hazy pale yellow - blonde with a fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, bready, doughy, custard creams, perfumed, banana candy, banana split, warming clove spice and orange peel. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, soft sweet banana, banana split, toasty grains, cereal, muted clove spice, waxy peel and some soapiness. Light body and fine carbonation. Aroma is alright, but taste/body is a bit wishy washy. Fair.

Can from Greens of Ellon. It pours jet black with a beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet , deep, dark roasted malt, coffee grounds, dark chocolate, malt loaf, gateaux, touch of umami and cafe mocha. The taste is smooth upfront, bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, slightly charred, umami, touch of ash, premium dark chocolate vibes, chocolate covered coffee beans and handful of liquorice allsorts with a dry, darky toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, carbonation. Flavourful, robust and satisfying. Reminds me a big of OG BD Zeitgeist, which was very nice also. Tasty.

Mini 25cl can from Westhill Service Station. It pours hazy orangey - blonde with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, bready malt, toasty grains, cereal, baked goods, stone fruits, dried apricot and green onions. The taste is firmly dry, hearty bread, farmhouse loaf, cereal, biscuit, toasty grains, oats, woody, some bitterness and that green veg/onion vibe with a drying finale. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. An interesting offering, but that oniony vibe is a bit odd.
