Temple Street, Birmingham, B2 5BG, England
Description
It's hard to miss The Trocadero, an iconic Birmingham pub with a history as colourful as its flamboyant gin-palace exterior.
Tucked away on Temple Street, our grade II listed local has been known as The Trocadero since 1912. Before that it was The Bodega wine bar, run by a real character called Henry Skinner. His presence is still felt (as our most active resident ghost). Pop in and we'll tell you a few tales about Henry over a pint and a plate of hearty food. Going right back, the building was originally a fire station - spot the stained-glass window where the firemen's pole used to be. Today, the sirens have been replaced with the buzz and chatter of thirsty Bullringshoppers and Brum's after-work crowd.
