Description
Award Winning Community Owned Back Street Boozer
Come and visit the King Charles I – one of the few ‘proper’ London locals left. The pub was saved in 2015, thanks to the support of passionate locals, and is now community-owned. We were listed as an Asset of Community Value in 2021.

A vital part of the Kings Cross community, we also welcome visitors from further afield to our down-to earth boozer, which is mercifully still thriving in a rapidly gentrifying area. We are proud to be LGBTQIA+ friendly, with a strict no-wankers policy.

With a cosy fire and a rocking juke box, we provide a sanctuary from the frenzy of Kings Cross. As well as spontaneous madness, and a hilarious batshit and anarchic quiz night, we host many DJ and live music events and have supported countless independent musicians over the years, embracing a diversity of music. Check out our pub blackboard for events or join our Instagram and Facebook pages to keep up to date!

The menus of nearby restaurants are kept at the bar; you are welcome to order food to eat in the pub, as well as lovely local cafés that’ll deliver your lunch right to your table whilst you enjoy our lovely selection of real ale, ciders, lagers, and wines – while helping to support our neighbours’ businesses!
