The brewery was founded in 2012 in Huddersfield. The name was chosen by the founder of the business who was a former Navy serviceman. A ‘bosun’ is one of the oldest ranks on a ship, and is responsible for the ship’s maintenance and upkeep.

Relocated to Wetherby in June 2021, taproom established in September 2022
