Sample at the taproom. Brown-black pour with a medium foamy beige head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Sparse patches of lace. Roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of mildly spicy rye malt, bittersweet coffee and espresso. The finish is roasty with a malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is rye forward with a good amount of roasted malts and a bit of earthy dark grains underlying. Flavor has a strong roast and rye combination with a touch of dark chocolate backing.
