Can from mon frere: pours clear light brown with an off white head. Aroma is piny, lightly fruity, light roastiness. Taste is sweet. Moderately bitter. Kind of sticky. Solid.

Bottle to tulip (imperial black IPA), the appearance was a black color with a lasting finger’s worth of off white foamy head. Mildly dissipated to leave some glossy lace.
The aroma had some sweet juniper/sprucy dryness, light roast, some dark chocolate and a touch of dried earthy hops.
The flavor was super dry and malty. Juniper sweetness was there and the bitterness too. Earthiness substantiated the aftertaste super dryly. The finish was dry, somewhat roasty with a pummeling ash.
The palate was almost medium bodied with more of a sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, I don’t see myself coming back to this.
