Rcvd in trade.
The appearance is a hazy golden caramel colored body with a two fingered white foamy head that once it dies, a nice clingy sort of thick lacing graces the sides of the glass, lacing forms fairly thick and clings soundly to the sides of the glass.
The smell has some strong earthy caramel malts up front, I’m not getting the expected amount of bitter hops I would get from an AIPA.
The taste has some earthy caramel taste comes back and some bitterness eventually does come in to assist in balancing it; strong caramel-like aftertaste; dry sweet finish.
The palate sits about a medium on the body, not as sessionable as I had hoped. Carbonation is pretty smooth and that can be a good thing, but almost not as harsh as I had hoped for an AIPA.
Overall, my bottle may have been just a bit too old, but hey I’m glad to have tried an IPA from a company I’ve never had and don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get again, if anything I wouldn’t mind trying this fresher because at the moment this could be construed more of an EIPA than an AIPA if anything, no worries.

22 oz. bottle hand bottled on April 7, 2013. Nose is mostly bready malt with a herbal note. I wish I had experience in tasting off flavors. It has a medicinal flavor mid palate. The only other flavor I get at all is wheat and a really weak bready malt profile. Real light body and overall bland. Slightly over carbonated. I guess the one nice aspect is it light on the palate. I wouldn’t ever drink this again.

Hazy tangerine color no head. Smells wheaty with hints of lemon and german hops. Sort of a pilsener nose. Hints of lemon and wheat. sort of floral, bready / biscuity. Very interesting.

Pours a lightly hazy medium golden color with a nice bubbly white head that persists for a while before impaling itself to the sides of the glass. Smells of light bread and honey like malts with a hint of light pitted fruits and a solid shot of Belgian yeasty esters. light floral and earthy hop aromas provide a fitting contrast to the malty sweetness. The flavor is more Belgian pale ale than IPA to me. Light sweet fruity malts with lots of clove to counter. Earthy and spicy hops provide some balance. Light to medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a sweet watery mouthfeel. Decent beer, technically nothing wrong with it, just not really my thing.
