Fishermen enjoy a beverage while casting away. Whether fishing or imbibing, there are limits, whether it be a 5 leader or 5 liters. Saisons were brewed back in the day for farm workers with a 5 liter daily limit, a satiating standard that would allow for ample thirst quenching in any condition while still being able to complete the task at hand, both then and now. Our session-style Szechuan Brett was designed to do just that. Whether farming or fishing, a little lighter beer extends the limit, a little pepper spice provides a little more character without over doing. What ever you limit is, enjoy our Szech ’n Brett, have a good catch, we do!

From a 75 cl bottle shared at the RB DC tasting Aug 1, 2015. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Minty nose. Flavors of white pepper and caradamom. Crisp finish.

750ml bottle. Poured a very cloudy yellow-orange color with a small, wispy white head. Aroma was some light dusty notes, plenty of fruit, peach-orange notes? Funky, dusty notes. Pepper. Lemon. Very tasty.

Some citrus and a hint of peach. Light citrus and only a hint of pepper. Pours cloudy orange with great head and lacing. Light sweetness, some tang. Light and easy drinking while maintaining complexity. Bottle.

Bottle. Cloudy to murky straw color, bright fluffy white head. Aroma of dusty and peppery haystacks and attic corners. Taste is funky lemons left in barnyards overnight. Delicious.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Lemon and brett aromas. Medium bodied with sweet marshmallow upfront turning to tart lemon and lime in the middle before turning to a lasting bitter earth and mild aspirin finish.

Pale orange with 2 finger head that fades fast. Brett funk aroma with a lot of spice. Pepper from the yeast, orange peel and something I can’t pinpoint. At first, I get a Wasabi taste along with orange and lemon and wheat / hay. Finish, more orange, funky with a little oak and cheese.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a large white head. Aroma brings out medium spicy peppers, lots of brett, and pepper. Flavour is well-balanced, with lots of brett upfront, lots of yeasty notes, and only a slight touch of spice. Complex, dry and bretty. Very nice stuff.

Murky orange-blond color with small head. Nice aroma, fresh, funky, spicy, and lightly fruity. Lean mouthfeel, it still has some residual sugars; it combines the funky character of the yeast, a fruity touch, light peppery note, and some wood too; astringent in the final.
