Fishermen enjoy a beverage while casting away. Whether fishing or imbibing, there are limits, whether it be a 5 leader or 5 liters. Saisons were brewed back in the day for farm workers with a 5 liter daily limit, a satiating standard that would allow for ample thirst quenching in any condition while still being able to complete the task at hand, both then and now. Our session-style Szechuan Brett was designed to do just that. Whether farming or fishing, a little lighter beer extends the limit, a little pepper spice provides a little more character without over doing. What ever you limit is, enjoy our Szech ’n Brett, have a good catch, we do!

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a light grass and Brett note with a light grain and a hint of flora. Flavor has a light tartness with flora, Brett, grass and a bit of light grain supporting.

Draft pour at Baileys taproom. Pours a thick pale yellow color with almost no head. Just tapped this so I got lucky. Huge bretty, funky, lemon aroma. Flavor is slightly tart up front, but sweetens out a bit. Huge Brett finish. Fun beer to try, and quite enjoyable.

750 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white head. A big fruity funky yeasty nose. Fresh noble hops, lemons, zesty, dry yeast. Funky. Interesting. Very good.

750mL bottle, best before 5/2019.
Huge amounts of carbonation, though it didn’t gush, so that’s a big plus. Rocky white head atop a heavily carbonated copper-brass body showing good clarity.
Lemon-lime-like acidity in the nose is joined by vanilla, honey and perhaps a faint bit of lemongrass or chili. It’s rather punchy (by punchy I mean tangy and rather crude; full of strong esters) just like it’s friend sezoen brett. No alcohol or flaw.
In the flavor, it’s the same, lemon sponge cake, honey, cookies and vanilla; all sorts of malt flavors with big fruity esters and a fair amount of tartness from the brett. What I do like, however, are the spices. Maybe that’s just because I’ve never had a chili pepper brett beer before, but as much as I thought it would make this messy beer even messier, I actually think it helps counteract some of this fruitiness. Quite drinkable and I enjoyed it well enough, despite a lot of that being novelty. Highly carbonated, spritzy texture with a bit too much sweetness.

Bottle. Hazy blonde, bubbly head. Hazy, dusty, light brett, hint of szechuan. Slight tartness, lacto?, touch of brett, but not too strong. Biscuity pale malts and a light fruity character.

750ml bottle pours a murky gold with some foamy, white head. Nose has an interesting mix of pineapple and green peppercorn, candy, almost a bit briny too, lemon. Flavor has cool oyster brine with lemon, pineapple, peppercorn, white grape. Plenty to unpack. Fruity and spicy finish.
