A seasonal ale featuring Staghorn Sumac.

Staghorn Sumac is a fast growing shrub/tree can grow to 30-35 feet in height. It has large alternate compound leaves that are made up of many narrow, serrated edge leaflets. Sumac produce fruit after 3 or 4 years and each drupe can contain up to 700 seeds. The germination of sumac seeds is enhanced by their passage through the digestive systems of rabbit, ring-neck pheasant and quail. They serve as winter food for over 300 song birds, moose and deer. Commonly seen on road sides here in Vermont as the disturbed soils make it easy for the Staghorn Sumac to take root.
