Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong roasted malts with a slight seafood note and a good amount of dark grains backing. Flavor strong roasted malts with some dry dark grains and a bit urchin underlying.

I feel like all their beers are quintessential examples of the styles. On point by the book, but I don't get much real unique outta them. I don't taste the effect of the sea urchin. SD pariah. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
