From notes.
The appearance was a deep brown color with a tan foamy two finger head that slid off at a mild pace. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some dark bread, dark fruits, some roasted nuts, earthy and grassy hops, sweet oats, and a light toffee at the end.
The flavor blended fairly well between all of the previously mentioned aromas sweetly. Aftertaste was bready sweet along with the dark fruits. Finish was smooth and sweet.
The palate was between light and medium bodied. Somewhat sessionable as the ABV wasn’t quite noticeable to the build of the beer. Only after consumption I saw the ABV and thought to myself, was it really 9.5%?
Overall, I liked this one a lot for me but have to think that’s one smooth doppelbock along with the crushable aspect going on.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a very deep amber with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of dark fruits and toffee with some sweet grains supporting. Flavor combines toffee and dark fruits well with a bit of dark but sweet grain supporting.
