India Pale Ale

This was the last brew we got into the fermenter before our boiler/steam unit had a total meltdown, and kept us from brewing for an entire week…but now it's functioning again! This brew has an enticing copper color from the use of pale ale malt, and a solid malt presence up front, aided by Carapils. It has more bitterness than our Anti-Hero, which comes from a big Warrior addition at the beginning of the boil, and then we added a similar amount of GR Hull Melon at the end of boil. It is also dry-hopped with Melon and Hallertau Blanc in the fermenter. Herbal and canteloupe notes come through on the palate before the resiny bitterness finishes things off.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber orange with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet bread with a bit of cookie and hints of sweet citrus. Flavor has a combination of bread, grass and sweet citrus with a bit of earthy grain in the finish.
