Bottle. Strange beer. Pours with a hazy brown hued body with a small, off-white head. Aromas are of coffee, cocoa, brown sugar, nutty, baking powder, oak. A touch powdery and earthy smelling. Flavors are nutty, a bit tannic, caramel, chocolate, roast, mocha. Medium carbonation, somewhat pesky alcohol flavors for 7%. Medium dry. Odd beer.

Sampled from the bottle at the Mundelin beer fest. Pours a clear amber red with a yellowish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has some dark sugary sweet grains with a note of beets. Flavor again has that beet notes again that combines surprisingly well with dark sweet grains.
