A molasses porter brewed in honor of General John A. Logan, whose statue sits in a lonely corner of Grant Park. Let’s bring him home! The molasses gives the beer a black licorice taste that combines with a nutty character from Victory malt.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured near black with a dark brown head that lasted throughout the beer and laced slightly. Aroma was full of molasses with a present dark grain note and a hint of chocolate and nuts. Flavor began with molasses but that gave to dark grains with a bit of sweet chocolate and an underlying nuttiness.
