Bottle at CBJ, thanks to LKS. Light smooth palate, forensic carbonation..A clear amber beer, no real head. Airy smooth malts, fair amount of papery caramel. Very ripe tangy fruits. Airy semi dry finish. Typical 1970s or earlier survivor. Obvs 4 or more decades past its best but, still interesting.

Quite well oxidised, a bit of toffee and stewed berries, but if cardboard, some bitter earthy notes. So so. Had aged OK.

Bottle split at the CBJ tasting, thanks to LKS, 25/06/2025.
Deep mahogany brown topped with a modest beige head.
Nose is earthy, aged notes, dried fruit esters, dark malts, oxidised tones.
Taste comprises tangy fruit rinds, stale fruit, dates.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close.
Not terrible considering the age.
