With a deep yellow-orange color, Open Gold has a fine and thick, very persistent head. Notes of malt reach the nose and evoke the aromas of biscuits, yellow ripe fruit, with a light touch of spices and citrus fruit.
The taste confirms the scents: the notes of biscuit perfectly blend with the spices and the bitterness that stays in the mouth until the end of the sip.

From the tap at Baladin, Bologna, Italy. Pours almost hazy, gold with limited foam. Aroma is slightly citrus, and fruity, honey and caramel. Body is medium-dense, with relatively low carbonation. Taste is mostly sweet, with a nice malt base and honey flavor. Only in aftertaste a light bitterness arises.

Bottle @ Eataly alla mole, Torino. Golden color, short creamy white head persistent, fresh smell. Aroma is malty syrup/sugar, candies, some balsamic notes and spice/cinnamon/yeast. Taste is sweet with a light bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy texture, smooth malty finish, just a light dry. Quite complex and well structured golden ale, but not really an APA.

Keg at Open Baladin, Roma, 23/09/16. Clear golden orange with a decent off White head that retains well. Nose is caramel malt, melon, light orange, bread dough. Taste comprises tangerine, melon, vanilla essence, soft bread, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Rather pedestrian for what is effectively an IPA at this ABV and lacking in hop definition.
