Hickory Stick Stout is a complex beauty. Rich, flavorful, and aromatic but not overly heavy. Roasted black and chocolate malts give this beer its dark color and robust flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. Pale and crystal malts impart a mild sweetness and caramel flavor to balance theintense roasted malts.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasty with dark malt and notes of caramel and chocolate. Mild sweet flavour with a good roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Nicely roasted agreeable Stout, a pleasant surprise.

ABV: 5.0%. Cloudy - hazy dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, chocolate - coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration, dark malt, roasted, wood, chocolate - coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190927]

Clear ruby brown color, good frothy tan head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, caramel. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee roast, caramel. Roasty sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate and coffee groundings, creamy mouthfeel. Tasty, good one.

Creamy caramel coloured head left a spotty cover on a very dark brown still body. Dark chocolate, malt, caramel & tobacco aroma. Medium bodied, creamy over the tongue with sharp dry finish - almost abrupt on the back. Malt, liquorice, dark chocolate, pine & cocoa tastes with light citrussy finish.
