Much like her Simpsons namesake, Edna is a crabapple sour, but with cranberry and aged in oak foeders for over a year, instead of cigarettes and regret. According to Four Winds, it features subtle notes of tart cranberry complement its nuanced tannic apple character, producing a balanced sour ale which will continue to develop with age.

Tasting at Josh’; corked bottle 669/750, bottled on 06.22.15
Cloudy orange-blond color with small head. Deep aroma, fruity, a bit pungent, perfumy pipe tobacco, sweat. Dry mouthfeel, highly carbonated; a bit fruity, a bit sour, but also a bit too much yeasty.
Very nice, not deep or elegant, the hype was maybe too much.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque orange with a small white head. Aroma is very complex, with barnyard funk and wild yeasts upfront, followed by apples and cranberries - what a wonderful blend. Flavour is along the same lines, with a great blend of cranberries, apples and wild funky notes. Fairly high carbonation and quite yeasty / funky on the finish. Sadly so limited and hard to get. It's excellent but of course doesn't live up to the hype.
