Award winning Pure UBU is a well-balanced, full flavoured amber ale, named after our faithful canine friend, Tess. Often found lazing around the farm, she affectionately earnt the nickname ‘Useless Bloody Urchin’, shortened to UBU and a beer was named in her honour.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber brown with good head. Lovely aroma with caramel and floral notes. Light body with medium carbonation. Ice taste - light toffee malt with nice fruity notes and some pleasant gentle bitterness in finish. Very drinkable.

Cask @ Hospital Arms, Colchester. Pours dark golden with an offwhite head, lacings. Aroma of malt, caramel, light butter, little fruit. Flavor is sweet, little bitter, malt, caramel, wood, grass. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. 170217

Cask @ Hospital Arms, Colchester. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, flowers, hops, malt and has a nice fruity light bitter finish.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, shared at Dan’s. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of toffee, and malt. Fairly heavy sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body and sticky texture, carbonation is quite lively.
