American wheat ale brewed with cherry and pomegranate.

Our Sea Rose tart cherry wheat ale is a fresh take on fruit beers. Originally conceived during an employee-led R&D brew, it’s one of our most imaginative recipes yet. The American wheat style is light and clean, while fresh cherry juice adds a soft coral color and fruity nose that gives way to a dry, slightly tart finish. It’s approachable, yet unexpected—exactly what we love to brew.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/22/2017. Pours slightly hazy pinkish golden/orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light about of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart cherry, strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of fruit, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart cherry, strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of cherry, strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of fruit, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/tartness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, clean, fairly grainy/sticky, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is a nice fruited pale wheat ale. All around nice robustness and balance of fruit, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Quite flavorful and not watery feeling for the low ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering, and great summer beer.

Whole lotta nothin’ on this one. Mildest of mild cherry flavor on top of a macro-leaning wheat ale. Some toasted grain, slight corn sweetness, mostly a whiff of cherry with seltzer. Pretty weak, BP.

Draft taproom. Pours golden orange with a large head. Flavor is tart bread. Yes. Apparently bread can be tart. Lots of water filler here. Kinda bland. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from West Side. Pours a light copper with pinkish highlights and a finger of foam. Light cherry notes with gooseberry and faint lemon. Clean and mildly tart. Refreshing with a light cherry, grainy finish. A touch of wood. Light but interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sea Rose on 15 Mar 2017 at 19:59 - Score: 7. On tap at Ballast Point Little Italy, San Diego. Clear golden with a small head. Soft and easy to drink with light raspberries and notes of wheat. The body was light. Drinkable but nothing special.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear pink gold with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is cherry skin and wheat. Thin body, cherry, wheat, crisp finish, good.
