Bottle to snifter, the appearance was a black color with a cap of a little white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sly lace, somewhat runny.
The aroma had some black licorice, milk chocolate, mild coffee roast, dried leaves and a touch of vanilla.
The flavor was moderately sweet with a touch of the black licorice sly spice to amplify the overall taste. Nice aftertaste of the spice to the milk chocolate. Finish was semi-smooth.
The palate was medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. ABV did feel as projected. Carbonation felt almost on par, it did seem a touch under to be honest.
Overall, a mostly good imperial porter worthy of more pours.
