Reviewed from notes.
Poured into a pint glass at the brewery.
The appearance was a hazy orange to brown color with a thin finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. Stringy lace.
The aroma had some nutty to grainy and dried pomme-like fruitiness to it. Slight tanginess to it.
The flavor centered around the pomme-like fruity portion and brought in the tang again.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable sort of sweet to tangy feel. Carbonated fine, but the tang seems to bite a bit more than expected.
Overall, weird altbier, in fact, not much of one. I didn’t mind so much for me, but true altbier lovers will probably be disappointed in this one.
