Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a semi-dark rugged brown color with a tan foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding lace.
The aroma had some tart to sweet cherries, somewhat like black cherries leading into a light dark chocolate malt base. Somewhat roasty with a little bit of toast coming in.
The flavor pulled to the sweet side of the blend of cherries to chocolate. Roastiness was still there, but not too much. Some bitterness from the dark chocolate came in lightly. Not much of an aftertaste, but finished with the roastiness and sweet cherries.
The feel was just a tad under medium bodied, but felt more as a sipper as the more I sipped, the more the tartness distracted. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, though I did like this beer, it’s not one to gulp nor to keep drinking pint after pint. It’s a worthy try, I will say that.

Gaylord location, from a fresh growler. Deep charcoal brown, opaque, medium tan head. Tart, very sweet aroma with emphasis on chocolate and cherry syrup. The body is drier than the aroma suggests, with chocolate and toasted malt complemented by the light, sweet notes of cherry. Rich despite being rather thin-bodied, this beer is best consumed one at a time.
