PRE-PROHIBITION LAGER
Introducing Leo’s Legacy — a historic lager reborn from the archives of Bellingham’s brewing past.
This collaboration with Hotel Leo is more than just a beer—it’s a revival.
Deep in the hotel’s catacombs, an original recipe from the early 1900s was unearthed, tracing back to the days of Bellingham Bay Brewery, also known as 3-B. Founded by Leopold F. Schmidt—who also established Olympia Brewing—3-B was once the pride of the Puget Sound.
We are honored to brew this beer with the lager's original recipe. Brewed with Chinook and Spalt Select hops, it pours bright and golden with a crisp, cracker-like malt backbone and a gentle herbal finish. It’s a clean, balanced beer that echoes the elegance of a bygone era—refreshing and refined, just like the Leopold Hotel that still stands today.
Come experience this piece of Pacific Northwest brewing history, now on tap. Cheers to legacy, to craftsmanship, and to the roots that continue to shape our beer today.
HOPS:
Chinook, Spalt Select
MALT:
Pilsner, Corn

Can from Total Wine in Vacaville, CA. Pours clear bright gold with a moderate white head. Aroma is bready with floral hop notes. Arguably med body. Malty but well towards dry. Crisp and clean. Mild floral/herbal hop. Very nice.
